Organised under TIDIP, which was established under the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Türkiye, the workshop brought together public institutions, industry representatives from the cement, iron and steel, aluminium and fertiliser sectors, and international financial institutions.
In their opening remarks, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Dr Çetin Ali Dönmez, together with Elisabetta Falcetti, EBRD Managing Director for Türkiye and the Caucasus, Jean-Christophe Carret, World Bank Group Country Director for Türkiye, Wagner Albuquerque de Almeida, IFC Regional Industry Director for Manufacturing, Agribusiness and Services in the Middle East and Central Asia, and Maria Luisa Wyganowski, Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation to Türkiye, shared their views on the opportunities for cooperation and coordination offered by TIDIP.
The opening remarks highlighted the importance of TIDIP as a common platform for accelerating industrial decarbonisation investments, establishing a strong basis for cooperation among the public sector, industry and financial institutions, and effectively supporting the transformation process.
The programme covered TIDIP’s vision and implementation approach, sectoral developments, the development of bankable project pipelines, and the establishment of a common transformation agenda among public institutions, industry and financial institutions.
Industry organisations representing the cement, iron and steel, aluminium and fertiliser sectors contributed to the sectoral sessions held as part of the workshop, sharing their priorities, needs and expectations regarding the transformation process. Throughout the workshop, the concrete needs of the sectors were discussed, while the views and recommendations of participants provided important input for TIDIP’s work in the coming period.
The views and recommendations put forward during the workshop are expected to contribute to the finalisation of TIDIP’s Investment Plan and Policy Strategy (IPPS) and to shaping the Platform’s work programme for the coming period.
In this context, TIDIP is expected to continue its work as an investment and cooperation platform bringing together the transformation needs of industry, public policies and international financing opportunities.
The Industrial Workshop represents an important milestone ahead of TIDIP’s official international launch at COP31 in November 2026. The participation of the new MDBs will be formalised at COP31, further expanding the Platform’s international cooperation and financing capacity for Türkiye’s industrial decarbonisation efforts.
